This year’s theme for Children’s Mental Health Week is ‘Express Yourself’ to encourage our young ones to dance, sing, draw, dress up and do anything else expressive.
Expression is a vital component of our wellbeing as it allows us to just be us. This helps with our sense of identity and confidence and reduces self-doubt and insecurity; it contributes to our sense of self acceptance. Expression also helps us manage our emotions rather than holding them in and letting them fester.
The Children’s Mental Health Week 2021 webpage has lots of resources and we can pick up an idea or 2 to do something different which can be a vital break from feeling bogged down with lockdown, balancing home-schooling and all our other life pressures.
As always, I hope you’re looking after You well.
