Rhythmic Therapeutic Drumming.

Bringing so many therapeutic benefits, Rhythmic Therapeutic Drumming is the art of creating structured, patterned sounds with percussion instruments, focusing on timing, coordination and repetition.
Rhythm and beats are central to in our lives. As human’s our heartbeat is the rhythm that is a constant and an is an unconscious comfort for us. Tuning into rhythm and beats can be very therapeutic and can reduce symptoms of anxiety, stress and low mood as well as releasing emotion.
How does it work.
We provide 1 to 1 sessions at our therapy room in Sutton Coldfield and we can provide group workshops at your location where we can bring 2 full drum kits (1 traditional acoustic and 1 electric) and some percussion instruments such as tambourines and bongos. Some locations prefer the electric kit where sound control is needed.
As part of the course, whether this be a series 1 hour sessions or a half-day workshop, we incorporate mindfulness techniques to help centre your attention and provide you with methods of practise to regulate your emotions and bring a sense of calmness to your world.
In being able to use a drum kit, we can be truly expressive in the session or workshop and we teach simple riffs to aid a sense of competence and accomplishment.
How does it help
Rhythmic drumming brings mental and emotional benefits such as boosting our mood, reducing anxiety and stress, increasing or ability to concentrate and can provide an emotional release. Physically it helps develop co-ordination, it can improve our immune systems and provides gentle workout.
When this is part of a group experience, it helps with our sense of well-being and our social skills to be part of the collective experience.
Contact us for more information whether this be for a 1 to 1, where this can also be incorporated into CBT and Counselling, or whether you’re interested in us attending your premises to conduct a workshop.
